Just in time for the so-called "spooky season" rolling around, here we have a recently released ambient album by David Johansson under the name Oscillotron, with a collection of tracks with a gloomy, dark and almost eerie sound.
Combining instrumental melodies of the piano and similar with the accompaniment of synths and haunting electric sounds and the lack of actual percussion for most parts of the tracks, it truly leaves one with an enchanting athmosphere as in in the midst of a doomed apocalypse setting. A very well accomplished goal, given that the inspirations cited by Johansson himself consist of prominent figures in horror media such as H. P. Lovecraft and Lucio Fulci.
A very interesting project that I'm glad I happened to stumble onto, and one I may come back to for relistens in the future!
