Okay, so including this album on this blogspot is kind of cheating on my end, as I didn't actually rate the album with my album-thon in mind due to having listened to it a day before I officially started, but I will count it anyway just to represent a full picture of the order in which I started listening to these albums.
ISSBROKIE is an artist I've discovered and become a fan of her work of quite recently, and so I was excited when I saw that she had released an entire album with 20 entire songs and a collection of collab artists. After listening to the entire thing in one sitting, however, I realised that most of its contents weren't necessarily what I was looking for in an ISSBROKIE album - but, if anything, that was on me for going in with the expectations that I did.
SWAGGOT! follows a storyline of Brokie impulsively replacing her old music producer with a new one named DJ Unfuckwitable (great name, by the way) just so she could name this album "SWAGGOT!". The interludes revolving around this story are an absolutely hilarious listen and give the characters and personas involved strong, fun personalities.
The song themselves for the most part consist of melodic rapping over heavily produced beats, and whilst ISSBROKIE's and the collabing artists' rap flows are great and the beats in use are very catchy, the general style of melodic rapping is simply one I personally have difficulty getting into, making a lot of this album unfortunately blend into itself a lot of the time. This stream of similar-sounding songs, however, make way for some of the best songs ISSBROKIE has released under her name, including I DONT LIKE U!, ON SIGHT!, BRAND NEW BITCH!, LIKEDAT!, and my personal favourite, OUT DA WINDOW!, delivering the full package of what the greatest elements of her music are all about.
Overall, a great album for those into melodic rapping, though not one for me, save for a few songs.
