Description:
...yeah, I will warn that a lot of the upcoming records intended for the albumthon are also going to be projects of electronic music. From another yet musically undiscovered corner of the world, Josef Tumari lets the voice of his home country Uzbekistan and its culture be heard in its own way by channeling snippets and segments of Central Asian singing into his musical mixing and carefully planting them in in a way that works as effortlessly with the otherwise clean, almost rather simplistic techno beats as it can.
The eight tracks within his second and newest album, JANNAT YURTIM, encompass a kicked-back, ambient and sort of dreamy kind of techno music that seeks less to stand out with flashy noises or high speeds and instead to fall naturally into the background where it is most content. With slick production quality, meticulous placement of individual specks of novelty to introduce throughout the songs and keep it from becoming overly repetitive, and minimalistic beats keeping a steady momentum going for the entire duration, the album is the noticeable work of a master in the making - one who is in the active process of honing in his craft and finding new ways to bring in new life into the music he makes.
While definitely not a flawless record yb any means, as every track eventually tends to blending in via all having similar tempo, styles of beats and a general atmosphere with only rare interruptions from this comfortable yet less daring status quo, JANNAT YURTIM is an album that deserves to reel in more recognition for an artist that has not only gotten to the point he is in now, but also most certainly has the knowledge and capabilities to go so much further in the music scene. Through its dedication to achieve its desired ambience not only in spite of, but with the use of imposed limitations and maximise its effectiveness without compromising on itself, it stands as a true showcase of musical artistry that shouldn't be overlooked. Not bad overall.
